Names in Portugal

Melissa's mother's maiden name is Leal and her ancestors were originally from Spain.
En route to Óbidos, we came across the Café Leal somewhere around Rio Major.

In the Café Leal we discoverd espresso for only $0.35 a cup, which was a relief to Gary, who had just inadvertently destroyed his beloved traveling coffee maker by plugging it straight into the 210 volt Portuguese electrical system without using a transformer.

Back in Peniche we discovered a contractor with the Leal name ...

And also a physician ...

Elsewhere in Peniche
we discovered
a "mediator"
with an interesting name.
And, also while in Peniche, we noted that the labor movement is alive and well in rural Portugal.

The Communist Party sign at right is from downtown, and the cartoon below is from a big billboard near the port of Peniche. (It says "Fishermen's Union.")
